I've been contemplating a trek to Scotland this summer but am trying to determine if I can make it happen. Any hospitable Scots who would contemplate putting a weary Gaelic pilgrim up for a wee visit in exchange for some songs and good conversation, PM me.

I think the Edinburgh Festival Fringe should be cancelled, instead, because some of the venues are half empty and there are just too many people in Edinburgh at the height of tourist season in August and many of the performances are amateurish and a bit, well, fringey and nobody tells us anything so we're not going.

I would agree with you there, Rex. I mean who would want to come to Edinburgh when the festival is on? Far too many shows and other entertainment going on.

If you plan to be in the Newtonmore and Kingussie area in Inverness-shire, you are welcome to stay with my great-uncle and aunt. They'd be delighted to have you for a night or two. They live in Kingussie, about 50 minutes south of Inverness in Badenoch.
