Ham is spot on with my own assessment here.
I have a pair of Merrell clogs that are comfortable to wear, but I NEVER get caught wearing them off my property. When I do, and no insult intended to those who are given to bouts of historical reenactment or who simply feel they need the added protection, but I feel as though I might as well be carrying a sword around. I even feel funny wearing sneakers with my kilts. Wife says they look fine, but even when the day is hot I often decide on hose and heavy boots.
That said, whatever floats your boat, though. Isn't that what this is all about?!
