Wearing clogs (Birkenstock clogs) is historically accurate. Go look around for Celtic clogs. It's a very old traditional shoe.
Doc Martens would probably look a bit better though. But nothing beats a nice pair of Birkenstocks for comfort.
That is the point isn't it? Being comfortable? Wearing a kilt to let your boys dangle and be free, and wearing sandles or clogs to let your feet be free. Let your boys and your toes wiggle freely.
Why go half way? We can get crunched nuts and hammertoes and corns or we can embrace freedom and comfort.
