Always fascinated when somebody tells me what I must love or believe. Emotion and belief are a matter of personal perception. I don't have to love or believe anything that doesn't come to me on its own.
In my line of work, I deal with that a lot under the "believe" heading. We believe... what we believe. It's that simple. You might convince me, but you can't order me to believe.

Nice temper tantrum. At least they've removed the stolen photos that were being used to sell this little instruction manual. What a doorknob.

Thanks for all the positive X-Kilt manual feedback. Yeah, between sydnie7, myself and about 100 other people on X Marks who've made X-Kilts, the ultimate tech support is right here on X Marks.
As for the annoyance of spending too much time measuring...um.....well, he's entitled to his opinion. I'm glad he refunded your $5.
As a complete curiosity, I did a Google search on X-Kilt and was astounded at the number of links that came up that were directly related to the manual.

This guy didn't like the box pleat so he tried the RevK, and then he added "slope" to the kilt, rather like Freedom Kilts does. He's only partway through writing up his instructions. Look at the "History" page and you'll see that he started with the X-Kilt.

Brazilian site.."X-Kilts". I think it's from South America, anyway! I can't tell if they're modified from my manual, or not.

I'm also amused by another "x-kilt" which apparently is a pleated skirt for schoolgirls, which incorporates "modesty pants" in the underneath, so that Bad Girls At School can't flash their undergarments. You'll find references to this item if you "google" x-kilt.

All I can say is that the kilt that results from cutting corners in the measuring, calculating, and stitching, regardless of whether it is a contemporary kilt or a trad kilt, is not as good a product as one that pays attention to these details. The product reflects the time, care, and precision invested.
But is it wrong to make a kilt by one set of instructions or another? Certainly not. it depends on the product you're after.
