    Another point that several more or less hinted at -- there are several House of Cheviot hose types that come with matching garters -- that's OK, but what I'm finding works even better is to mix the garters and hose to add some contrast.

    I'm the one on the right in Lovat Green Hose with garters from a set of claret/brick red hose


    So the point is, get a variety of colours of hose/garters and mix it up --- as long as you don't go for a combination that's really off, it looks good and adds to the overall look.

    Yes I like contrast there too, especially if you can get a warm/cool thing happening, like claret garters with blue or green hose or visa versa. Ditto with the shirt and tie.
