I tie mine in a bow to indicate that I am "attached". My wife actually ties them for me. I told her if she ever divorces me, I'm going to untie them, so the ladies at the old folks home will know that I'm "unattached". It works pretty good. We've been married for 45 years.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

No... I found the thread. I'm going to "pinch" the bow a bit more in the middle. Selfies are awful to take; I was concentrating more on not getting the flash reflected than I was on the hat. I'll fix that up too!

    Thanks guys!

You're getting there, Bill. It's a new hat and will only get better with age.

Now all you have to do is fill it with rocks and throw it in a stream. (On the plus side, there are plenty of streams these days, but you will want to make sure it is tied to a tree so it doesn't get washed away.) Then it will be properly "Jocked"!

If you're happy with that bow, Father, then leave it. But I know when I tried to do the same with my Balmoral from Glengarryhats.com, I found the ribbons to be too wide for a nice looking bow. For some reason, they use very wide and stiff ribbon material on theirs, unlike the Mackies. I couldn't get it to look like I wanted, so I just leave them dangling. If I really wanted to tie them up in a bow, I'd probably end up removing them entirely and replacing them with newer, narrower, softer ribbon material similar to what the Mackie bonnets use.
