Thanks everyone We just got back and he had a great time going out kilted.. I think the only thing disappointing to him was that most people thought it was just a random costume and not a genuine handcrafted work of art.. He got lots of compliments from those who did seem to know, lots of josting from the workers and had an overall great time being kilted.. Unfortunately, we didn't find a buckle for his belt, so he was beltless the entire time.. we will remedy that problem before going to the Scottish Fest next month.

Here's a pic of him out and about.. He did decide to pull the hose up and go ahead and wear his flashes as well.. I'm noticing in the pics that the hose should have gone a bit higher up though, so he'll correct that next time out.

He is looking good. Does he know how lucky he really is? He is at the start of a long (hopefully!) and enjoyable journey with someone who likes, knows and cares (you) at his side. Lucky man!

Alright, being purely educational here and solely on the basis of something for you to consider, hubbie's hose could be worn higher, and this may mean a new pair of hose. Lucky chap!

So it depends on what he is wanting to achieve, but to be a tad more conventional, his hose need to be worn at about this height----plus an inch/inch and a half, perhaps, to suit personal taste and hose length..

If you are going to the Scot Fest in Orange County over Memorial Day weekend, you will certainly have your choice of buckles there.

again, thanks for the advice I'm reading everyones responses to him for him to take in (eventually, i'll get him on here himself but his job with the Air Force keeps him pretty busy and he spends what spare time he has looking at the stars.. lol)

Jock, sounds like he's gonna need a longer pair of hose.. He says when he turns the cuff at the start of the ornamental design, they fall mid calf.. Guess thats my fault, I bought them for him as a Christmas present and didn't realize they came in different lengths.

BCAC, I think he's lucky but hey, thats just me.. haha.. The kilt was his thing though, never in a millions years would I have ever thought he'd be wearing one. It's been an interesting journey for sure, but he supports those things I come up with and I support his (evident by the kilt and the not one, not two, but three high powered telescopes that clutter up my living room.. lol)

It looks like he could turn a bit less over and get more height on those hose. I do know know if it would be enough but it would be more!
Hope the skies are clear tonight for the eclipse, we are going to try out our new telescope if it is.

I would agree with that. Unless he is exceptionally long in calf, I think it is unlikely the hose are too short. I have very short legs and always find the hose are too long! I have never come across length choice only foot size choice.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
