    Here's a kilt for somebody

Spent some time stalking e-bay this afternoon, after loosing out on an argyll jacket and stumbled across this solid coloured kilt on the back corner of the site.

Alas, it's too small for me, but I think it is lovely, and thought I would pass it on for interested Rabble.

(if someone has been stalking this, I apologize for drawing attention to it, but it was too nice to go without a bid)

I've noticed solid black and forest green kilts on ebay and was wondering about them. What is the idea behind it?

It's odd that the pleats run right to left instead of the usual left to right. It also seems narrow at the waist and rather wide at the hips, to the extent that the third (hip) buckle is moved forward. This makes me suspect that this kilt might have been to fit a woman, perhaps a female member of a pipe band or other Celtic music group.

Ian , good eyes, I missed that. Maybe it was made by a left-handed kiltmaker like me.:-)

This kilt has been doing the rounds on eBay for over 4 months, the price has been too high (£150, then £100, then £75, and now £50.... I would set it at £25 and have done) but at a 30 it's too small for me - plus the jury's out on a grey kilt by itself, and not part of a kilt suit... looks too much like some poor girl left her netball skirt behind... The kilt looks like it's been thru the wars, as the material looks like it could start to bobble at any moment

Not my cup of tea. It has to have a Tartan on it for me i'm afraid or it would not grace my hips

Jigsaw is a chain store in the UK selling men's and women's clothes. They sold these kilts briefly a few years back and had a poster campaign around them and then that was that.
