This might be the first example of on this site of when NOT to wear a kilt.
Will leave the comments about "going regimental" to others.

You're a mean man
It's not bad enough that after getting tired of getting hit I sold my bikes, now you you go and post yourself on a
bike in a kilt. Wah! Second the gear comments. Once a car knocked me into a parked Lincoln and then a long
slide on the pavement while trying to get the bike off the top of me. All in all as successful an outcome as possible,
but w/o really good boots I wouldn't still be wearing bones in my left ankle. That's when I decided to wear good
gloves all the time, as well. Tough doing concert rigging with no palms.

Its no different to people going out in shorts or the Harley riders who have piss pot helmets on and no face protection. of course this was only a test ride up the road on my friends bike that had a running problem . I would no go out for a decent ride in it . But just for fun I put the pics up as its not something you see very often and I thought it was fun .

As it was just a test ride I can get behind this, the first 15 years or so of riding a motorcycle I wore a leather jacket, helmet, jeans, boots and most of time gloves. I got tired of sweating to death and so in the summer would ride in a t-shirt and leather vest for really hot days. The only thing that would bother me about this is I find the idea of exposed legs that close to a hot engine just a bit of a bridge too far for me. I've been hit with rocks, June bugs, bees and even a cigarette to exposed skin while riding heck I was stung 3 times in a summer while riding. I've also been in more than a few accidents over the years as people generally do not see motorcycles, It's all about acceptable risk.
