First kilt 6/16/2011 at 12:48 Callander Scotland
Just gave myself a chuckle sitting at my desk and running across some old receipt from The Callander Woolen Mill in the lovely town of Callander. Jennifer and I were in Callander during our Highland bike tour vacation in 2011. This receipt is for the VAT 407 form which I never turned in. I figure I bought my first kilt there I should pay the VAT tax too. That day we were shopping for some nice sweaters and gifts for family when I came across what they call "The Weekender Kilt." It is a Hecktor Russell PV kilt in Modern McKenzie, pretty much a standard kilt and tartan found in most stores. Jennifer said go for the kilt (she actually joked "go for the skirt") and the rest is history. Im glad no one saw me try it on, yes the pleats were not place correct on my body the first time. I bought the kilt for 50 pounds plus VAT and havent looked back since. With two custom made kilts, Bonnie Heather Greene and USA kilts, and 6 production made kilts I figure I am a bit hooked. It has been 3 years plus a few day and thanks to XMarks has been a wonderful experience. Now if I am not wearing a kilt Jennifer wonders why. Just to prove I have it a photo is in order.
My Weekender Kilt from Scotland, forgive the older photo of me.
