To think about the mass casualties from the Great War. It makes me speechless. Furthermore, it is not talked about much in the States possibly due to our limited role in it and how long ago it was. I've been to Washington D.C. many times. As most of you know, there are memorials for all major wars in which the US has participated. The World War I memorial is columnated rotunda of white marble. The last time I was there (about 4-5 years ago), it was barren. No visitors at all. I dabble in history and the Great War was not lost on me. I saddened by the lack of visitors there.
