    so are you saying they are 1 of the same tartan blackwatch has knife pleats and Sutherlands have the military box pleat. well ill still be calling my blackwatch when im out it sounds a lot cooler LOL

    Yup, that's about it! Most people know the tartan as blackwatch and would have no idea what "the Government Sett" was all about... even if it is on a kilt that has a heritage with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. The additional information was simply provided to help you understand why your kilt is pleated as it is. It has the heritage of a proud regiment, and their distinctive pleating is part of their regimental tradition. Judging from your avatar, I'm assuming you would understand that. I would caution you saying that your kilt sounds a lot cooler if you call it Blackwatch if there are any current or former Argylls around; they might have something to say about that!
