Back from vacation and a wedding...
At the wedding I was the only kilt-clad man there. The wedding was in high heat in Pittsfield, IL. Wanting to remain subtle but comfortable, yet classy gave me some headaches and required a lot of compromises but this is how my outfit turned out. Note that both photos are after a couple of hours in the heat and one was taken with me standing on uneven ground in a wonky posture while looking straight into the sun (so not the most flattering). But since I talk alot about kilts and have yet to post a photo of myself in one I figure it is about time. Feel free to comment as you wish. No offense will be taken and I welcome any positive or negative comments. You can also just leave the crickets chirping and make no comments at all.

Sharp look. You HAD to be hot in the jacket and kilt hose...

Looking good! I'm not experienced enough to identify many tartans by sight. Which tartan are you wearing there?

Thanks all for the kind comments!
Well, even if you were experienced this is a tough one unless you cheat and look at my profile. As far as I know I have the only weave of this exact version of the Clan Lamont tartan. It was only ever offered by Dalgliesh and apparently I was the first person to ever order it, and since then it has disappeared from their tartan library on the website. I will have to post a review of my kiltmaker for this one sometime with the details but getting this tartan was a bit of a saga. The name Dalgliesh uses for it is the Lamont Dress tartan in Reproduction colors.
Yes I was quite hot that day but so was everybody else. Interestingly I was not at all hot from the waist down. Just head to waist, despite the linen kilt jacket rather than tweed. I do have a trick for super hot days with the hose though: I tend to wear cotton socks under them to deal with the sweat and prevent the wool from getting rough against my skin.
Since people mentioned these items I hope the following is helpful:
as far as the sporran is concerned, you can get it here:
http://www.usakilts.com/fancy-pin-br...y-sporran.html
and the hose here:
http://newhousehighland.com/hose_celticknot.html
and the braided strap I paired with the sporran here:
http://www.rkilts.com/belt.aspx
and the belt here:
http://www.usakilts.com/brown-and-bl...kilt-belt.html
I got the kilt belt buckle on Etsy and it has a celtic Torq/torc design in an antique finish rather than chrome.
When Matt from NewHouseHighland starts offering the linen jackets again I would highly recommend one for warmer weather to any people interested.
