Firstly I'd like to say that I'm greatly enjoying the show. Such a pity that it's not being shown in Scotland, at least as yet.
I'm also fascinated to read about the creative process and the compromises that have had to be made. I knew there were some, and it's interesting to hear the reasons and also hear other ones I had no knowledge of.
I think you've done a great job, Terry, well done indeed.

Thank you so much! Yes, this business is constant compromises, and knowing when to stand your ground and when to give in (to get what you need later). Often very frustrating if you know something isn't right.
But this show has been very good. Ron is committed to getting it right and celebrating the culture of Scotland. He is a HUGE history buff, hence things like the sequence on will waulking, that was not in this book

The sequence on waulking, as well as the impromptu shinty match (in a previous episode) was absolutely brilliant!

Totally agree, Kyle. And I suspect the depiction of the game is closer to the way Camanachd was originally played. If not then, like some other things in the show, it ought to have been that way.

It was good to see that plain cloth was being waulked and not tartan. Not one of the extant pieces of the period that I've examined was fulled.

It was really cool to see something like the waulking sequence. I recently saw a demonstration from a fiber group at a local festival. I hope they can continue to add sequences of daily life like this.

I'm behind an episode from my American friends I think but I'm looking forward to this waulking sequence! I come from a place where we still do this. It's just for fun now rather than necessity but it's still a regular part of life. I wonder if I'll recognize the song!

The song is on Terry's blog here.
