The construction is bizarre- with both a 'double breasted' set of buttons as well as a center button. The cuffs look a bit odd, as does the rather hard angle of the sporran cut-away.

Other than that it certainly looks like a quality garment.

I'm all for adding flair. Adding a flare seems dangerous.

This calls to mind the green velvet dinner jacket that my commanding officer wore on civilian occasions. Sadly it was worn with trousers, but women swooned for it! (My wife thought it marvellous.)
If only he had thought to wear it with his regimental kilt . . .

I'd wear it. It kind of has the Moody Blues feeling going for it.
