    Sportkilt TWICE THE PLEATS

    Hi,

Sportkilt now offers twice the pleats of the standards larger pleating to give your kilt a more authentic look. Has anyone purchase one with twice the pleats? How do they hold up?

Caution: Note the fine print says twice the pleats at half the depth. That would be one inch wide pleats one inch deep. I was not interested in that so I asked at the SportKilt booth at Pleasanton if they would make a kilt with twice the pleats but with deeper pleats. Once they understood what I was getting on about they said yes but it would cost more for material. I haven't ordered one yet but I am still considering it. For my hip size it would essentially be an eight yard kilt from eight ounce material.

    Thank you McElmurry,

I noticed that the depth of the pleats are shallow. I will be using this kilt for hiking and its a feature I was thinking about trialling. I want the kilt look, without the unnecessary weight. I figure, that to the untrained eye, even though the pleats may be shallower it will look more like an authentic kilt because there are more pleats.

Or it might look like a 'skirt' instead of a 'kilt' because the pleat won't have the depth.
