    Highland Naval kilt

Well well maybe you didn't think that the Highlands had a Navy. But here on Ebay somebody is selling an "original Scottish Highlander Naval kilt and jacket".

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Sco...item56697c1595

And a helpful Ebay member has informed the seller that it's a Korean War Seaforth Highlanders uniform. Wow what an imagination.

I told him it's a civilian Montrose jacket (to which a veteran has attached his ribbons) and a civilian kilt, probably in MacLeod tartan.

Interesting. My daughter says that Ebay is either a treasure trove or a minefield, depending on where you click.

Well, after all, aren't kilts traditionally worn at the navel?

I'm game here. Good to see Sailortats donning his "watch cap". Finally a jacket in my color scheme and I will check on the size. Your daughter's right MacEanruig, without the treasure map, perils and booby traps prevail on ebay. Thanks Father Bill, for more shenanigans. Always a welcome breath of pun intended.

well, as the seller comments, they were basing the naval reference on the shoulder boards - which are indeed naval, although I suspect not British. I do find the descriptions of items are often a bit of a chuckle. Then again, people throw in as many adjectives as possible, so they hit ever possible search.
