Three Miracles of the Kilt World

Miracle #1 Rick Osteimer of Ohio has hiked 600 miles of the Arizona Trail's 800 miles. He hikes kilted. Hiking the trail brought him to my little town. Here's an article about him. http://www.copperarea.com/pages/kilt...s-in-superior/
Miracle #2 He and I were both in Safeway in Page, Arizona late on a Sunday night and we ran into each other.
Miracle #3 I was not kilted at the time.
He has his apron held up to show how much his hiking kilt has faded. He ranted about the benefits of hiking kilted.
Who ever would have guessed another kiltie would come through my little remote town in the canyonlands?

Steve, I think that was covered in #3, but you were in shock in seeing a material besides a kilt on Ron.....
Ron, as I am now recovering myself from this shocking image ( oh my....say it's no sooooooo ), I hope you and Rick got the time to share some stories and a nice ice tea. You got to love a Sport Kilt now and then as they keep on going through the challenges, even tho they don't hold their "color"......we'll done Rick.....
I hope you invited him to join our merry group here also?

There is NOTHING more embarrassing than meeting another kiltie when I ain't kilted...Rick was in a hurry for some reason...maybe to get away from yet another guy NOT in a kilt who said he has kilts (we all get that one). Didn't get a chance to chat. Did put in a plug for X Marks...was gonna post the pic on his FB page, and found his FB page under his name, but its not active in over a year. Methinks from the pics on his page that he's often well off the grid.

It's good to see another kilted long-distance hiker! And a triple-crowner to boot.

Thought of you when I met him Andrew - in the hiking sense.
This guy is intense, determined....all lean...muscled....and in a hurry to get to the next hill.
And he was sold on kilts for hiking.

Riverkilt,
What can I say except "cool!!" I love kilts, long beards, and long hair. You guys got them all. (If you do not believe me, my first record I that Ibought (with Dad's money, I think) was the 45rpm version of "Hair" by the Cowsills. I was about 10 years old at the time. It is still one of my signature songs at karaoke nights. You and your new friend, are "way cool."
