Any feedback on the 5.11 TDK?

Mel, Brother Ratspike is speaking in military/tactical jargon... A rigger's belt is a nylon web belt that can be used as an ad hoc rapelling harness at need...an admin pouch is a heavy-duty nylon military pouch, and it would make for a very appropriate sporran with the 5.11 TDK.

I bought my multicam TDK this past april, and I wear it very frequently! It's one of the most versatile and comfortable pieces of clothing I own...and oddly enough, I barely get a glance from most people when I'm wearing it, as opposed to my tartan kilt which always gets glances and comments! I hope to buy another TDK this spring, perhaps in the TUNDRA green color...

I have a Stillwater Kilts nightstalker sporran made of leather that I got 2nd hand that I generally use with the TDK... While I don't really need it, I feel more comfortable wearing a sporran with a kilt, even the ersatz variety

Thanks for that. In my military days we wore web belts and webbing. Not sure I'd go for a camouflage kilt, maybe black but I think I'm done spending on kilts, at least for a while. The only time I don’t wear a sporran is when I take the dogs out for 10 minutes and I don't bother locking the door.

Aaaww Mel - you aren't having much luck with your kilt purchases - I hope that the latest one turns out well, when it is finally in your hands and girding the loins.

I have a 'camouflage' kilt in cotton printed DPM, which I like a lot - it was one of my first and it is now mended in a couple of places after encounters with vegetation on the heath - kilts are just too addictive...

No I had to send my Powell of Wales back. I'm waiting to see what they are going to do about it. I'm not too bothered about the utility kilt. I'm not keen on the camo kilts though.

I just bought an inexpensive black canvas pouch from the local camping/army-surplus store (Andy&Bax) for only US$5.

It is 6 inches wide by 8 inches tall by 2 inches deep, which feels roomy to me as sporrans go. It has one big main pocket, plus a small one on the front.

Those admin pouches look pretty cool! But cost a little more than the 5 dollars I paid

Condor makes inexpensive pouches that look good and would hold up fine for use as a sporran. Several of the pouches on this page would look great with a 5.11 or similar kilt. http://www.gmstactical.com/comopo.html

I own three, a khaki from the first run and green and black from the second. I love them and find that there are enough pockets that I could get by without a sporran. I prefer to use my Stillwater nylon night stalker. That being said that the black one was cut differently than the green. Same size on the label, but the black one is noticeably tighter on the hips. I may end up selling that one. Does anyone know if they are still selling at 5.11? I think too much time has passed for an exchange.
