			Sock find, ENORMOUS calves.

I have stupid-big calves, like a lot of you lads. Now, for "dress" stuff, I've schmoozed some hand-knit hose from friends, Mrs. Farlander and String-- and those babies are The Bomb. For everyday, I swear by the O'Marled OTK's from Sock Dreams, but sadly, it's been almost a year and Sock Dreams shows no sign of ever getting the O'Marled's back in stock. Sad Face. I really want a pair of gray kilt hose for everyday. Well, this weekend at Costa Mesa, I found charcoal gray 50/50 wool/acrylic pipers hose that were very nice and grabbed a pair at $45. Forty five dollars for kilt hose makes my stomach hurt, but what are you gonna do. Not ten minutes later at a different vendor, I came across lighter gray hose for twenty five bucks. This was the color I actually wanted! POOP...well, the pipers hose will be nice, so I can't cry too much. However, this $25 thing for kilt hose...I can handle that. So I took a chance and bought a pair. Lo and Behold, they FIT!
I don't know the brand, and I can't find an actual brand name on the packaging, so to help you calf-heavy lads out, I scanned the packaging and had a couple of pictures taken of the socks themselves. Maybe someone will be able to identify the brand.

I can't believe I'm doing this, BTW. Me? Showing picture of socks? Oy...... Here you go.

PACKAGING - I trimmed the picture down to just show the relevant graphics.

 Socks, themselves...

Since that one's a bit fuzzy, here's another.

Hopefully one of the Rabble can identify this manufacturer.

Alan a quick google makes me think Scottish Highland Wear is the brand. I came across a few pair on ebay and other places sporting the same markings. I will include one of the ebay links to what seems to be the exact same kilt hose. Im sure they are mass produced somewhere in this big old world but they all have the same sleeve with Scottish Highland Wear.

Brewerpaul, the packaging does say "Scottish Highland Wear" in smaller text beneath the larger font KILT HOSE...
I just followed your ebay link and yes, that's the same brand. Nice bit of quick research there! So for all you lads with BIG CALVES, looking for a pair of kilt hose that won't break the bank, try these. I've had them on all day and they're great.

Those are fine looking hose. I wish I had seen them as I cruised the vendors on Saturday.

Those look an awful lot like the Skye or Harris wide calf version of the Lewis hose by House of Cheviot.

I am in need of a wide calf pair in green for a friend of mine. He has one leg and has to cut all of his hose to fit his prosthetic leg.
I don't see anything on the eBay link that say's it is wide calf am I missing something?

Or if anyone has a direct link to where I can get him some Santa would be very grateful.
