I'm absolutely loving my kilt! It's really comfortable. I am getting used to being stared at, but there are worse things. Now I need to start upgrading.

If you are willing to do some extra work, buy the book Art of KiltMaking (AoKM) and you can make it better. Namely you can upgrade the liner to cotton and you can adjust the waist so it fits you better. It's going to be a fair amount of work, but if you want a great fit, you can't put a price on it.

Anyways congrats on joining the Kiled Club.

I had added a stabilizer and interfacing to SWK wool economy; however, although not the best of work, I learned a lot, and I am very surprised how much better the kilt feels and wears.

I have had a Stillwater Black Watch Kilt for 5 or 6 years. Had no problems with it.

So this a little late from the original post, but I just had to tell someone about my new kilt! Stillwater heavy weight wool black watch, with box pleats! It's amazing. Especially considering the cost. I'm putting together a 1914 A&SH pipers kit, and this has made it an affordable endeavor. Thanks Jerry!

I'm a bit confused. My Stillwater BW heavyweight wool kilt is knife pleated, and to my knowledge so are all of his offerings. Did you have one special ordered with the 93rd style box pleats?

I did! Jerry has an entire, very unknown, custom section. Military box pleat, to the line, at no additional cost. Just a little more time. He said that it could take up to 4 months, but it was less than 2! My problem is that I forgot about the "no fringe" part of the A&SH version and the black, double prong, buckles. The no fringe would be an easy order, but the buckles might be an issue. But both can be fixed right here by my favorite seamstress.

I need to make a slight correction.....there is an extra charge for the box pleats, but I believe it was only $20. Even with shipping, one of the nicest kilts I own, was less than $200! I will do this again!
