When your kilt has no pockets, time is ripe to be wearing a Cabela's Safari Shirt, either the lighter, less expensive dressier one or heavier, more outdoorsy one.
The former has two, buttoned breast pockets. The latter has those plus zippered ones behind them and one on the left arm.
Net result with the heavier one; better, more pockets than a pair of chinos.
