Derek, I think I'll join you in the "outing" tonight. I think I'll wear the Irish National Tartan. Here in Philadelphia, I know there will be virtually NO reaction at all... expecially at Finnigan's Wake. In fact, the one time that I was there without a kilt, I caught all kinds of hell!

They'll learn to live with it... like it or not.

Same here! I did the school thing without the kilt today. On the way home from Fredonia, AZ I stopped at Paria Outpost...a BBQ joint with music run by an old hippie/Rainbow Tribe couple. I always wear my kilts there.

Tonight, first questions was, "Where's your kilt!?"

Later, the wife took me aside to ask again. I explained about it being distracting to the school presentations...then she invited me to their place to go hot tubbing...sadly, has to be another night.

Well we all went out last night as planned. I really thought I would have something interesting here to tell you about my cousin. She made no comment about my kilt at all. I might as well had jeans on. She was certainly not uncomfortable in any way with me being in my kilt. We went to a ceilidh and I was the only kilted person there. Today the wife, myself, my cousin and some friends are going walking in the Brecon Beacons National Park ... even though it is tipping down with rain. I intend wearing my old 17oz 8yd strome walking kilt. I will take some pictures and post them later. I must say this kilting addiction I have just gets better and better. Thanks to all you guys who are always there for support. Until later .. Derek

    Derek,

Just a thought about your cousins lack of comment on the kilt because of where you were going, the ceilidh, she thought you just might have been dressed for the occasion. Maybe with walking around the park a comment will be made, but if not that is OK too. She is just comfortable to be with you.
