Finally worn for daily wear.
I finally wore my kilt, a 4 yard acrylic kilt, nothing fancy, as daily-wear (Thankfully in a non-ghetto area.) I got one comment on it, the standard, " Are you from scotland?"
Sadly the only ones who made nasty comments to my face were my brother and dad. Both of which just want to mess with me. As for behind my back, well who knows, and who cares?

Well done laddie!
Do you know, even after 70 something years of kilt wearing, that there are places in Scotland where I would not even consider wearing the kilt, so for you to do what you have done, in an area that has little or no knowledge of kilts, must take some doing! The more you learn about the kilt, the better you will wear it and the better you wear it the more respect you will have.

Well said Jock!
Laird... Your brother and father are probably jealous, and will be even more so when they see what a chick magnet a kilt is.

Good on you. I wish I had the balls to do the same here, even my wife would have a go at me if I did.

Keep it up. The more comfortable you are with wearing kilts, the more self assured image you will project. In 5 years of only kilt wearing there have been many normal kilt questions and compliments but extremely few snide remarks.
I have been in quite a few states including Louisiana and the responses seem about the same everywhere. I am not of an imposing build either.
In restaurants I seem to get better service than before. I think because I look smarter and better dressed than the normal crowd.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Oh well done, sir! Your confidence will build with each outing, notwithstanding your "nearest and dearest"!

Well done, Kimes.
Douggie, try wearing your kilt around the house first, and see if you can wear down the wife’s resistance.

Mike

Good on you! Kilts are a rare sight around my area, but always warm my heart when seen. Keep it up!

Hi Jock!
I'd be very interested to learn where these places are, and the particular reason why you would not consider it! Unless, of course, answering such a question would in some way violate forum rules, or if the information has been divulged elsewhere.

Chick magnet is perhaps an understatement. I have gone from being an average slightly overweight 62 year old guy to a gentleman that ladies of all ages are eager to chat with.
