X-Mark advertiser, Stillwater Kilts has an all wool, black option:

The weave creates a tartan like effect. They also have an acrylic version.

Alex... A number of years ago I purchased just such a kilt to wear to football games. After receiving it, I tried it on and realized my mistake. This sort of kilt is not even fit for football game duty. I replaced it with a PV black kilt which had served me well. Perhaps as a one time Hallowe'en costume, but that is all.

I have heard that the black kilt was first worn by Welsh nationalists, but I'm not sure if its true and that they are popular in Cornwall, but again, I don't know if that's true either.

Some Maori(s) today wear a wrap that is generic Pasifika. A kilt. They look good, and probably better than their war-state nakedness, for which some haka(s) were performed.

If intending to do a haka in a kilt, be sure to select one with good deep pleats each side of the apron, so it has ampleness and also coverage.
