My latest sporran. Dyed mink and black leather back with hand made brass cantle (nickel plated). Inside is red suede.

Brilliant! Great job on the cantle, how difficult was that to make?

The cantle is a fair amount of work. The outside was half of a brass lamp base cut to shape with 1/4" x 1/2" brass hinge bars soldered to it. The spring latch is a brass tube and finish washer soldered to guide the pull. The back is one piece of 1/16" thick brass sheet cut and bent to shape. A piece of bar is soldered and drilled for the spring catch. I had the front piece nickel plated along with the finials.

Very clean, simple design. Nothing to hide the beautiful execution of the metal work.
