Dimensions of Welsh Ysgrepan?
Greetings,
I was recently looking for a larger sporran to more easily accommodate my keys, wallet, phone, and other personal items. I noticed that the Welsh seem fond of something called an ysgrepan, which seems considerably larger than the usual Scottish sporran. That said, I could just be thrown off by the voluminous goat fur and large tassels.
If any of you own such a beast, I would be deeply grateful if you would be so kind as to provide the following measurements to confirm or deny my suspicions:
-Width of Pouch
-Height of Pouch
-Depth of Pouch (gusset size)
-Length of Back/Flap piece, from the bottom of the pouch in rear to the tip of the flap in front
-Overall Width (including fur)
-Overall Height (including fur, excluding tassels)
If my suspicions turn out to be correct, and the ysgrepan is indeed a uniquely spacious beast, there may be some eye candy for the DIY section in the near future.
Many Thanks,
Livonian
Postscript:
This is the sort of ysgrepan to which I am referring:

If I were Welsh, or even remotely from the English west country, I would definitely go for this one, or something similar. Unfortunately no knowledge of it apart from seeing it and others on Scotweb.

I did some number crunching on my above picture assuming a 24 inch kilt... 7 inches wide by 10.5 inches tall, assuming that the hair is as short as I think it is.
UPDATE: 9 inches square seems to be the best approximation of the size of the pouch I can come up with after much guesswork and math.

I thought they were terribly overpriced, so just went for a normal sporran, though I did have one custom made which is big enough for wallet, glasses, car keys and phone. Also I would no longer buy anything from the Welsh Tartan Centre, having had to return my Powell of Wales kilt as it was so badly made.

I have the very model but am too busy to measure it until at least next Tuesday due to other duties.
Can you wait that long?

Actually, I am nearly finished with my own, made 9 inches square, with the foldover of the flap making it more or less correct-looking. That said, I may be having to make another one, as I seem to have made the gusset a little too large (still beats the usual off-the rack sporrans, which hardly fit a wallet, phone, and keys). Given that, I would certainly appreciate if you could post measurements. It will certainly help with my re-make, and someone else may be looking for this info in the future.
