"Daddy-o" was a piece of linguistics originating in the culture of the noble beatniks, a 1950s species which never had the opportuity to reach its full potential through natural societal evolution.

The vile "hippies" arose volcanically as a counterculture in the mid-late --> late 60s veritably extincting the beatniks before they reached their social vetta. Some beatniks gave up, some became variants of hippies.

The Vietnam War ended, Civil Rights became real, Women's Rights march on, "Save the Planet" continues to be all-important. Many of the vile hippies' "Paul Revere" warnings were taken seriously.

"Their work done," vile hippies largely morphed because of passing years' pressure into a subset of the "Baby Boomers" and most assumed the full range of roles in polite society. Wannbe hippies of the early 70s deteriorated into legions of clueless suburban kids all dressing the in the same mass-manufactured "hippie" clothes dopey look.

The major tragedy of this all is the blue jeans / tee shirt / athletic shoes / hoodie "Chicago shabby" of about 1967-8-on, has over the course of almost 5 decades, become much of the world's favoured "look."

Best of fortune for being a kilted greaser. Many folks on the USA northwest coast are actively doing their version thereof.

From an incognito, morphed into a paragon of The Establishment...but still...vile hippie. Because once "things needing changing" are identified, that auld sage of the dirty hippies surfaces:

"If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem"

And being a part of the solution matters.

Peace and love, X Marks colleagues.
