I think it's wonderful. I've long wanted a jacket like that.
I like the whole outfit, the hose and the shoes and all. Looks like an outfit one might see The Duke Of Rothesay wearing (even that tartan!)

What my mind's eye sees to complete that kit is a lovely Artificer MOD sporran in brown
and perhaps a regimental/school stripe necktie.

The more I look at it the more I like it. Just add the sporran and flashes and you are all set to go. not sure about turning the kilt, it does not look as if the front apron is symmetrical about the red stripe.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

					Thanks to all.
I just threw the kilt on for the sake of getting a pic with the jacket, so I didn't center my kilt or throw on a sporran or ensure that my hose are the same height.

Thanks for the feedback on the jacket and vest. It's growing on me.

This looks just fine on you. I do confess to a slight prejudice about the 3 button style jacket, and concur with Jock Scot's comment about it.

I see what you mean about the three buttons. I had the tailor draft a pattern using another kilt jacket that was a 3 button sort.

Three, or more, button jackets seem to have been de riguer in Victorian times.
 Your jacket looks great!

I like the look of your jacket and the vest but I really like it when the vest is on the diagonal. Not sure if that is "proper" with tweeds. I do know it is harder to line up when you make it.

I agree with OC Richard, it looks very fine to me. I like the way your tailor has aligned the pattern perfectly with the jacket and the waistcoat. Whilst I don't own one myself, I think the 3 button jacket has a very MacLeay look to it that I rather like. The only thing that I would have done, were it my choice to make, would be to add lapels to the waistcoat. Overall, it looks quite Highland to me.

I agree with a brown sporran with those shoes. I think a cream tie would look good with a darker (even maroon) shirt. I don't have any problem with the three buttons on your vest. All of mine have five buttons except my scarlet one with three that has a low cut neck line, then the shirt and tie draws the focus. I like this look on you.
