Sure would be a good combination of colors to wear to a wake or funeral, the somber black with the joyful red.
'Course my tastes in funeral wear are joyful, wore a bright yellow aloha shirt to a brother's funeral.
Anyhow...the tartan is beautiful, whatever its origins. Know you'll walk proud in it Will.

Not sure about it being Funeral Only. Jackie Stewart and son wore that Tartan in 1998 when they were launching their new Stewart Grandprix Racecars and drivers. It was definately a joyful occasion.
