LOL on the mix up on the location of Connolly pub. Actually the one you went to was closes to the parade's end. The one we went to next to the Perfect Pint was near where Rick had left his car. It soon filled up with pipe bands.

Here is a pic that was posted today on the Face Book page of NYC Tartan Week.

Two last bits of weirdness, although one was quite cool.
As we left (the other) Connolly's we found a strange little bar attached to an Italian restaurant and stopped in. When we left there the hosetess asked me whay she saw so many people in kilts over the last couple of days. I told her it was because of the parade, and she said:
"Oh right, because of the Passover".
You gotta love it.
The next day my wife and I went to Ellis Island to see the exhibit on Captain Kidd put on by Clan Currie. As we were walking up to the security checkpoint there was a man playing a steel drum. He was playing various island themed songs and generally adding to the flavor of the waterfront. When he saw me coming he stopped in mid song and started playing Scotland the Brave. That is the first time I had ever heard that played on a Steel Drum which was kind of cool. That got me to thinking, he had to already know the song and how to play it. It there some sort of connection that I have missed all these years?

No, to the best of my knowledge there is no connection between the Passover and Scotland the Brave!

Here's our highland dance group, Shot of Scotch, dancing a traveling reel step up Sixth Avenue in the Tartan Day parade. The premier dancers were in the lead, with the advanced student dancers (including me in my Wallace kilt), and next the wee little dancers . It was so much fun!

I saw Bonnie before the parade started. She was smart, waiting in the sunshine at the corner of 45th and 6th while folks lined up in the shade on 45th. It was great seeing you Bonnie. Your group did great as always!
