In Elizabethton? Or perhaps in Johnson City? My mom would have to go there for major shopping and so forth.
Anyhow now she's back in good ol' West Virginia, in Hurricane, BTW pronounced more or less like "HUR-kun".

In Elizabethton. We'd like to be in Johnson City, due to infrastructure (an interstate running through it and hotels), but there's a lack of good venues and the only decent one asked for an egregious sum of money as a usage fee. We've recently started a partnership with East Tennessee State University, though, so that may lead somewhere down the road.

I was asked if I'm an Italian at a grocery today. I got caught off guard with that question since I do not look like an Italian at all. All of my ancestors were from Britain with some dash of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. I said, no I'm not Italian. She was like, oh, didn't Italians wear kilts?
I kindly informed her it's the Scots who wear it. She was like oh ok.

'Am betting very, very few people told Roman (pre-Italian) soldiers, back in the day 2000-1600 years ago, in their short kilt-tunics and sandals, "You look "feminine."
Some's reply may have been the sound of a gladius hissing out of its scabbard.
