Wonderful bus ride to town
Will try and explain this in the simplest way .... got on a full bus to town yesterday and had to stand next to a rather loud middle aged lady with I guess her very young grandaughter who were sitting. After several real strange looks ..
Lady ... 'Where you off then'
Me ... 'To the Supermarket'
Lady ... 'In that'
Me ... 'In what'
Lady ... 'That'
Me .. 'Whats that'
Lady getting bit annoyed and pointing at my Cilt ... 'That'
Me ... 'Oh you mean my Hat'
Lady ...'No that'
Me .. 'But whats that, I dont understand you'
She was getting well piffed off and then had to deal with the littlle girl as they were approaching their stop.
Gotta luv these rare little encounters when they happen .. happy days

Wait, what hat were you wearing? Was it appropriate for motoring about on a bus?

Yes, I agree with Tarheel, you should wear only appropriate headwear with your...that.

So glad you were able to make a new friend on your expedition, Derek, despite the apparent language barrier !

I've become rather attached to my "that." Great conversation starter, it makes a statement, and there are very few passengers on your average bus that are willing to flaunt theirs. Your "that" is a very personal thing. Wear yours with pride. Well, I guess that's that.

I think you and I have a very similar sense of humour.
