    Quite right, Downunder!

Without wishing to sound snooty, in a civilian world, a customer, client, guest to a pub, meeting, gathering, high society ball should not compare their attire requirements to the "uniform" requirements of staff. Staff have a job to do within the employers wishes and follow dress codes of their own specific requirements. Guests are not bound by similar requirements, although an understanding of civilian dress conventions is helpful. Which is what this thread is about.
