USAKilts Philabeg at a buck 10 or so ain't bad. P-V so they are easy to take care of, pleats are stitched so they hold well. It's a starting place. I got a couple of pictures posted, it's the MacQueen (red and black) tartan.

I have one (Scot Nat'l tartan) and have been wearing it quite a lot myself and love it. I'm putting a deposit down on monday for another (Prince of Wales tartan).

I've married into the Stewart family so as you might imagine I'm getting asked when I'll get one of those as well.

Philabegs don't necessarily need to be that PolyVicsose stuff. There are wools available (or obtainable locally) that will work just fine.

We used to make a hybrid of the Casual and the Philabeg, that was a wool kilt (much like the Philabeg) without the sewn-down pleats. The wool or the thread can shrink a bit, which leads to pleat puckering. Ever wonder why Scottish kilts don't have sewn down anything?!

It's a value and look that you just can't beat for the buck. I used to work-out payment plans when necessary, and you can always see what can be done now. Hey... you're an XMarks member!!!
