Sailortats, thanks for the meetup info.
Maybe I'm just not finding it, but is there a master events schedule on their website? I have gone to the individual event listings, and cannot figure out when the gathering of the clans takes place. Is it on Sunday?

Thank you for mentioning the meetup, Sailortats. I will be there this year to join our West Coast Convener since I have moved up to Commissioner. Everyone is welcome to stop by the Clan MacLea (Livingstone) tent also.

Alex, I don't think there is any schedule of events on the web but uou will be able to purchase a program right inside the main gate when you show up at the games. I can't seem to recall if the Parade of Clans is just one day or both days but I am sure others will post here and no doubt will tell you.

And yours Truly
Will be there both days.
I will be over with the Scottish Country Dancers most of Saturday (The Red Thistle Dancers have a show at 1:00 and will be fielding an adjudication team earlier that morning) but will be in about the Hospitality tent on Sunday

Hi! This is my very first day/post here, but I've always used this site as a great kilt reference.
I will be at the Games for the entire duration, with the Los Angeles Fife & Drums Corps. Look for our tent! I'd love to meet and get to know some of you, and I hope to make a more lasting impression-- just ask for Julian!

Welcome to XMarks!

I'll hopefully see you there. I'll be attending both days, in the Clan Chattan and Mackintosh tents and around the games.
...and will swing by the XMarks gathering at the MacNaughtens.

I'll be there with my band, Cameron Highlanders of San Diego (I'm in the grade 4 band if you're interested). I'll be competing Saturday and Sunday with the band, and at least Saturday (hopefully Sunday, too) in grade 4 solo piping.
Does anyone know anything about the Ceilidh? It's been a long time since I've been able to get to Pleasanton (last time was '08 or '09, I think), but I know there used to be one on Saturday or Sunday night. Not sure if it's still happening nowadays...

Pleasanton Highland Gathering and Games
Aye,
Attending and camping overnight on the Fairgrounds will allow much wandering and photography.
The Gathering of the Clans is in mid-morning on both Saturday and Sunday in past years. They gather and parade around the grounds with tartan banners, crests, flags and any handicraft that celebrates the family.
See you all there in Pleasanton this Labor Day weekend -- Pleasanton, California -- Alameda County Fairgrounds with a likely show of 600 to 700 pipers and drum, dozens of harpists, fiddlers, dancers and everything for re-enactments of Scottish skirmishes with Roman Legions of the Emperor Hadrian to modern battles. You'll see blacksmiths, weavers, armorers and more. Athletes will rule the stadium and artists and musicians stir everyone.
Cheers,
Stephen Mills of Clan Cameron of Locheil
