there's a sword-smith /artisan up keene ny featured on making a sword form scratch .

Thanks fellows! I looked into the site in Ausie land but wow.. they want nearly double what they asked for that sword when it was new here in the US. I've thought about making one several times. Perhaps that's my best bet.

If you check the other links you'll find that sword for half the Oz price. It's there.

A little late to the party, but you could antique the basket yourself. This would probably mean taking the sword apart, which should be possible. I imagine the hilts screw together rather than being glued or welded.
