My First Kilt just delivered today
They have just delivered my first kilt today. I have tried it on and it fits fine but as it is a Christmas gift from my wife it has to be hung in her wardrobe and zipped in its bag, and the accessories (which I haven't seen) wrapped for Christmas Day.
I am surprised at how heavy it is but as my wife says 8 yards of heavy material is gonna weigh a bit. She got me the Scottish National tartan in the end. Can't wait to wear it properly on Christmas Day. Or as I said on the newbie section...Kiltmas day....

Well done Terry, I bet that's a bit of bummer having to give back until kiltmas, and yes an eight yard Kilt is heavy, there's a thread on here discussing Kilt weights, Christmas will soon be here. Kit

What!? No Santa? No letters up the chimney? And---------AND------just who has been drinking all that sherry and eating those mince pies? Just where is this world going to?

I have three words for you.....
Don't
Gain
Weight
Kilts tend to "shrink" when hung up for a while.

Great stuff.
You will adjust to the weight of the kilt very soon.

And be aware: kilt(s) can become an addiction! After Christmas comes Easter...you never know...
