Avoided trick-or-treaters by going kilted to a wedding...
Mine!

Had it outdoors at one of the local parks. Forecast called for a 70% chance of rain, but we were blessed with a dry a dry and cool window for the ceremony.

You guys look GREAT
Wow, I love the way the couple (in front of the train) looks. Also, the Scottish pirate. I don't know about you, but when I dressed in my kilt for halloween, I had several conversations, with parents, about all things Scottish: their family trees, tartans, etc etc. It was a real conversation starter. While their kids were in my haunted castle, I was able to talk with many nice people. Our annual trunk-or-treat party is at our church parking lot (with carnival games inside, and a chili cook-off). But it is for the whole community. I live on a little country lane, where we have never gotten trick-or-treaters. Anyway, I love to see people who look good, in their kilts. And I don't consider wearing our kilts, on Halloween, to be disrespectful at all. I have refrained from using the term "kilt cops," but I think people should lighten up a little, in their judgment.

And kudos to the married couple
You also look great. I was a part of a wedding, years ago, where all the men wore kilt/tuxedos. You look better than we did. I think it looks sharp. Every year, will you wish each other a happy halloween, or a happy anniversary? For you, it is one in the same. Congratulations.

Thank you all. We pulled it off in just a shade under 6 weeks. We love the autumn, and enjoy Halloween. It'll be an easy date for me to remember. We were lucky that it happened to fall on a Saturday this year. However, I have been told that true Celtic weddings are held on Nov 1st. Could have done that, I suppose.

Note here - when asked on Saturday if I was Kilted at work for Halloween my response was this, " Why no, I'm wearing it because it's Saturday " 😀

My Scottish castle/spookhouse
Here is what I did, Halloween night. Pictured from right to left, one of our cub scouts (Andy), and his little bro, in front of my castle. Built almost entirely out of styrofoam. It stood at the rear of my 6 X 12 utility trailer. The kids walked up the ramp, through the curtain, and into a little spook house inside. Made the shields using 1/8" cabinet backer board, cut, spray painted. My wife helped me make images on her vinyl lettering machine. Flew the Saltire, Rampant Lion, Erin go Bragh, and Ireland flags. Had three ghouls on top (can't see them in photo). A piper, fiddler, and guitar player. Had celtic and celtic rock music blasting. It was great fun. Had good conversations, with nice people, about Scotland, kilts, etc. I was in my Douglas tartan kilt, by Sportkilt.com, and jacobite shirt. Hopefully, I'll be more accessorized, by next year. I'd be glad to share how I built this, if anybody is interested. It was super EASY.

It was the first outing for my new Jacobite era coat, and for my wife's kerchief. We had people asking us if we were supposed to be Jaime and Claire... The first time it was asked of us, my response was "Nope! Travis and Jackie." And 30 seconds later, "Oh!! Jaime and Claire!! I get it!" I'm not the biggest Outlander fan in the world... I just wish we had composed the photo a little better. For example, the plastic orange juice bottle in my wife's hand is a bit out of place. However, thank you for the compliment.
