    USA Kilts ordred

After a brief and completely non contentious negotiation session, I was able to get approval from the local office of budget and finance for the purchase of a semi traditional kilt from USA Kilts for $219. As I debated at length between the Firefighters Memorial, Clergy or Sutherland tartan, I discovered a $10 upcharge for my waist to hip ratio. Well that put the cost of a semi traditional within $20 of the sale price of a 5 yard wool in Celtic Nations Tartan which I also like. As my maternal Grandfather is English and maternal Grandmother Scottish, Celtic Nations was only appropriate I explained, plus I gather from many comments here that wool is the way to go if budget allows. So I managed to sweet talk my way to a few more dollars and placed my order. Now I find myself wishing Rockie's time machine applied to made to order wear because I think it would be pushing my luck to ask for more money for a rush fee.(especially since I already snuck another pair of kilt hose in with the order) Oh well, waiting is such sweet sorrow.

P.S. I think the lady in charge of the local office of budget and finance is sweet on me. I might have to think of something real nice to do for her.

I'm obviously so excited about my order that I forgot how to spell ordered.

I have the 5 yard wool in Celtic Nations. It is a handsome garment that will attract a lot of compliments. I'm sure you will enjoy yours and hopefully you will have it before the holidays.

    Congratulations!

I looked it up, here's an old thread where an XMarker shows off his beautiful new Celtic Nations kilt

And likewise I hope you'll post pics of your kilt when it arrives.

This tartan has significance to me too, as I'm mixed Cornish/Irish/Scottish blood (of the lines I know about... there's probably English in there too).

Mine was a similar story, leading to the purchase of my first kilt, (5 yard Celtic Nations). It is still probably my favorite, and a beautiful tartan in my opinion.

You'll be very pleased with your decision. Glad the numbers worked out (with the finance department) for you to get the wool kilt. Congratulations!

Now, if I could only lose those two inches to get back in to my wool kilt! (I believe I'm making some progress)

Wearing a nice wool kilt is quite a proud feeling. You're going to love it!

I agree with all of the above comments. As of now, Celtic Nations is my first and only kilt as of yet. It is great. It is perfect for the holidays, and you will receive many compliments while wearing it.

    Enjoy!
