    Hi OCR,

I suppose, Black Watch Pipe-Major, as SNCO, should wear officers pattern 10-buttons spats , correct?

    regards,
    Mikhail

You got me a-lookin' at some photos of Black Watch Pipe Majors and I can't find any that show the buttons clearly.

There is a photo of the PM and DM standing together and their spats look to be the same height, and you can see the DM's have 8 buttons (as I recall, I don't have the photo in front of me now). Seems that oftentimes the PM and DM share certain peculiarities of uniform in various regiments.

I do see the Officers wearing spats which are taller than those of the enlisted men.
