Blackwater Wildlife Refuge Kilted, and a Memorial
Last year, both my parents died, my Dad just one month after my Mom. Per their wishes, they were cremated, and I will not discuss the disposition of their ashes in an open forum as the regulations of the State of Maryland were NOT followed. However, my parents were instrumental in setting up the volunteer system at the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They won awards from the US Dept of the Interior,, and made major improvements to the infrastructure of the refuge. There is now a bench, on a wild trail with a bronze plaque with the inscription "In Memory of Frank and Clara Withnell, who loved, each other, their family and this refuge." It is their only monument. Yesterday, Michele and I, our daughter Shoshana and granddaughter Yonina went to see it. I was of course kilted.

A very difficult and poignant experience. Loving prayers for you both and for the whole family.
If Maryland gets out of hand, I guess I could always register the disposal of ashes here in my churchyard; end of problem!

Father Bill,
I am deeply touched by the offer, but at this point, the Withnell brothers have gotten away clean, no need to bring anyone else into the conspiracy! Dad would be proud.

That memorial (and the service of your parents) is great Geoff! The next time I am down there (it is one of my favorite waterfowl photography sites) I will have to pay special attention to the benches!
Regards,
Tom
