Cool Who else likes to wear loud and colorful hoses?

It's been a year already since I first donned a kilt. Thanks to OC Richard, and his hobby of putting up of old time Scots in artworks, photos, catalogs, and etc.. I've noticed they did wear mismatched colors of their hoses that do not exist in their kilts, ties, and suits to match with. I've changed my taste of trying to do a color-coordinating hoses from last year to loud yet colorful hoses this year.

I.E. I wear a Glyndwr tartan kilt (Black, grey, and red) to go along with black shirt, black vest, red tie, and purple socks. I really love it. I wear loud red, loud blue, purple, mustard/yellow, lovatt blue, lovatt green, and etc socks with the dark-colored kilts.. I rarely wear black, navy, and bottle green hoses lately for a while.

Heck, I did wear navy/orange/white argyle socks with my American Heritage tartan kilt. It's eye-poppin!

Anyone else a colorful socks fan too?

Sorry for poor light qualify picture by the way.

I have a tendency at times to get more matchy-matchy than I would like (must be the German side of my family showing through), but really like the dash of artfully juxtaposing accessories. The downside being that the more interesting hues available in Highland hose are invariably also the most expensive (definitely the Scottish side of my family showing through).

I basically gave up on the Scottish wool hoses included the ones from House of Cheviot as they cannot last 6 months even if I was being careful with them, wore undertone socks first, put hoses on gentle, and never wash them. As well as wearing them once weekly. They still got holes, torn, and etc. Maybe it's me, I have a case of of bad lucks with them? I cannot justify $50 or more on those wool hoses anymore if they cannot last 6 months. I just wore cotton over the calf socks, soccer socks, and the cotton argyle socks that's like $8 to $15.

The purple socks in the picture is the Reebok soccer socks for $8 at my local sports store.

The fact the 99.9% of the people out there wouldn't realize I'm not wearing Scottish wool hoses anyway. Let's hope I don't run into a kilt police!

I don't have durability issues with my custom hand knit and House Of Cheviot hose. You need to hand wash them in Woolite however, and resist machine washing and drying. I want to look into the shooting/country hose options mentioned in another thread, but have yet to do so.

I suppose my "loudest hose" would be these, knit to match my Drummond Of Perth (HOE Muted) kilt

or my castellated diced hose knit to match my Isle Of Skye kilt

    or these ornate Shooting Socks

I have had no trouble with my Cheviot hose. I wear a light weight ankle sock under the hose and put them in the washing machine as soon as I take them off. Wash on the delicate cycle and then hang to air dry. Mine have lasted for 3 or more years with no problems yet.
I credit the ankle sock under the hose keeping me from having holes in the toes.

I often wear my fire engine red hose from cheviot with my Ancient Colquhoun kilt and have received positive comments a few times.
