Here's a video montage from Sunday.

You can see yours truly marching past around 7:11.

The coolest thing (to me) is when the LA Scots Pipe Band and the Marines band play together, which starts at around 11:00.

Here's our band on Sunday... we didn't do very well.

Well, Richard, we connected after a fashion. That was I who waved at you on the north side of the competition circle from my well-positioned spectator's chair on the south side. You could only manage an acknowledgement nod, having pipes in one hand and some sort of liquid refreshment in the other.

I enjoyed the band performance; they sounded quite good to me. I only heard the msr but I'm very fond of that march and reel. Very melodic tunes. When I was in Misty Isle we had along run with "Lexy" as our msr reel. Good stuff.

    Best,

    -John-

Only managed to see a few XMarkers on the athletics field...I made the local paper though, judging the professional athletes.

Here are a couple more from the field...

Andy Vincent (former NFL offensive line with the Dolphins and the Lions) with an awesome caber toss!

    Jon O'Neil

    Nick Kahanic

    Curtis Durocher from Canada

    Dan McKim (current World Champion)

apropos of nothing....I made that Caber. Well, Mother Nature made the tree, but I cut it down, divided it into two parts and turned the bottom, big end into that caber. It's gratifying to see it still holding up a year later. It's a bit small for the Pro class, though.
