    Agreed. As with many other things in life, just because you can doesn't always mean you should. The two examples are fine I guess, not my cup of joe but whatever. Outlander is, I assume, still super popular so a collab with Barbour makes a lot of sense. Just not to me.

    Why not - there are thousands of companies making tartan material for shirts etc. It's just a clothing company shirt tailing (excuse the pun) on his fame and the success of the series. It doesn't appear that they will be registering them unless I missed something or am not familiar with how this company works. Looking at their website I don't see anywhere that they sell material for kilts etc.

    I 'met' Sam at the NY Tartan Parade in April. Seems a nice enough young man.

    Not to really prolong this but in the interest of educating myself. From the link it looks like the tartans were meant to be corporate tartans for the company not for retail. Or am I not interpreting the meaning correctly. Just curious.

    I too am curious. Would these liken to the colors and designs like jockeys wear, as Horse racing recognizes?

    Definitely for retail - Barbour Merino Scarves.
