Although there are often pics of me in my tweed, I usually remove it after the parade of clans at the opening ceremony which occurs at noon. The mornings are typically cool enough that I am glad to have the tweed but by noon and mid afternoon, the heat of the sun is out in full and shirt sleeves are more than adequate. Do they even have such a parade at most Highland Games in the Highlands? I see clan parades at Clan gatherings but that's a somewhat different affair.

    Lightbulb Thcd

I think I am finally starting to cast off impressions of what I thought traditional dress was , and getting more comfortable with what it should be . Many thanks to everyone here who helps to keep us grounded ... with a bit of flare

There is often a parade leading up to the games with a band or bands leading the chief of the games, officials, judges, stewards and some of the competitors and miscellaneous hangers on. The chief and officials are often a bit more dressed up with jackets and bunnets and a few crummocks.

    Any photos of your friends?

We've seen some great pics, many of members of the forum. how about pics of the non members. People who might not think about their kilt attire as often as we do. Again, I'm looking for pics of Highlanders in the Highlands if possible. All levels of formality are welcome!

I have a dumb question... What exactly do the letters THCD stand for? I understand what you are looking for (I think), but what are those letters for?
    Regards,
    Tom

Thanks Nathan. I knew I could get an answer without a lot of name-calling.
