With the fly plaid I would shorten the amount of length of the flashes. Leave about an inch and half below the bottom of the hose fold. You might want to pull them a bit more toward the front of your leg also. That would position them in the two o'clock place of the right leg and ten o'clock for the left leg.

I like the over-all look and would be comfortable in the same outfit.

Looks great, with a nod to advice given.
A red, or perhaps yellow, single colour hose flash. There's a lot of tartan going on and, as mentioned in the forums often, the Tartan kilt should be the attraction (or was that lady's distraction 😄)

No belt, plaid a bit higher on front of the jacket (my darling wife still wants the fly plaid), the kilt length is still skewed in appearance by the camera angle and an unresolved hose situation. Still tweaking, but my mother was thrilled to see me in the family tartan and was certain my granddad would have been thrilled as well.

This outfit looks put together and it also looks good on you. Some great additions to your wardrobe. From these basic pieces you can do a lot.

You'll look good at the Conyers Burns Supper, though you may be feeling a little overdressed. Or not. Some pretty formal,
    some more casual.
