I am not personally a fan of the front pockets on TFCK, especially as I have a somewhat slight build so I don't think I could carry it off. His kilts also come with two smaller pockets that flip over the back top band, each accommodating a wallet or phone. The front pockets are optional and expensive, at £200 a pair.

Okay, they look good, but let's face it they could look good in bin bags. £200 for pockets, at that price I wouldn't have any money left to put in them.

PleatedOne,
Could I please ask that you remember that this is a forum that we feel we can share with our families. I would appreciate it if you would refrain from language like that.
This is actually covered in our published Rule #3, and you have been a member here long enough to know better.

Yeah, the "other guy" is me... I'm also the President of the New York Tartan Day Committee.. and I've been a member here for a long time.
My opinion? I love when I see someone post a picture wearing a very non traditional kilt with flip flops, and people say how nice the look... but someone has a scuff of their boot and automatically they are an abonomation...
Love the comments, love the opinions, keep them coming..
just proves I'm doing something right wearing Howie's amazing work.
Cheers folks

Here I am when I visited with Howie of 21st Century Kilts. Both of these kilts have pockets. Mine actually has 2 more than Howie's.
The kilt I am wearing was made in 2006. Here is the same kilt about a year after it was made showing the Side Slash Pockets.
I wear a kilt everyday and this one is worn about once a week. This kilt is still going strong 11 years later. I wore it just this week.
My pockets are always full with a large set of keys, my pipe, zippo lighter, pipe tool and usually a thumb drive or two.
Here is another kilt that could pass for a full traditional kilt any day.
But with pockets.
This just goes to show, that just because a kilt has modern features, it does not have to be made from solid colored Poly/Cotton.
And the pockets don't have to be pouches on the outside of the kilt. To each his own, but I prefer my pockets to be more covert than overt.

Thanks man, it's a thankless job, but still in the end, rewarding.

Awful? really? Never in my years as a member here have i been so insulted about my outfit.. it's not your personal preference but to say I look awful, is quite rude..
no we aren't models, and yes, i am wearing it as intended.. BTW I am the guy on the right..
YES i know who to wear it, i do wear it proudly, and I DO wear it right. this is not a "traditional" kilt, it is being worn "right"
YES i do own traditional Kilts, i have 7 of them, 2 that belong to my Pipe bands, yes i am a piper, so i know how to put it on properly.
I think you people need to learn something.. you may think you are just offering you opinion, but infaxct you are insulting the very people you are critiquing.. you could very easily say, This is not something i would wear. or, i don't like it..

Thanks, I am very proud of my attire..I am in fact Wearing It Proudly, Wearing It Properly, Wearing It Like I Mean It. The devil is in the details, just because you don't like it, doesn't mean any of the former is not true.
and by "you" i mean anyone. remember this folks, just cause it isn't your style, doesn't mean it doesn't look good.
