I always wear a kilt to Scottish Country Dancing (SCD) classes. Last night two of us who are preparing for our Unit 2 and 3 exams for SCD teaching certificates next year learned one of the 12 prescribed dances, The Gates of Edinburgh. Last week, it was Alltshellach, a fine dance. No, really it is, but you have to keep your wits about you, and thankfully it's a Strathspey.
Congratulations Mike, and they paid you extra to walk out the door!
Now you can do what you decide, what you enjoy. Any more kilts planned? I don't know if the University of the Third Age (U3A) operates in your country, but that is a good and inexpensive way of finding out about all sorts of different things to learn.
All the best!

XMTS teaches much about formal kilt wear, but otherwise,
... the kilt is clothes, what you wear with it should be what you find best suits you and your lifestyle. (Anne the Pleater) "Sometimes, it is better not to know the facts" (Father Bill)
