    Why so? It was common practise on 18th century plaiding - Joined Plaids - Settings & Construction and Selvedge Techniquies

    Had read the Joined Plaids.....The selvage.piece was most interesting. thank you.

    I joined the Tartan register just to get a thread count for this tartan...not sure why I like it so much. My tastes tend to wander towards the hunting colors.

    There are several entries for this tartan recorded by the SRT, such as this one. Uunfortunately none of them are correct. For a detailed dicussion of the origianl and subsequent copies see this paper.
